PS 307 students co-authoring book in partnership with Brooklyn Historical Society

The seven Brooklyn Historical Society Young Scholars pictured participated in an after-school program with the Brooklyn Historical Society. They studied the manufacturing and industrial history of Empire Stores and the Brooklyn Waterfront. Using primary sources, maps, walking tours, and other materials, they co-authored a book, now titled, Empire Stores – Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Thursday, June 14th was the publishing party at the Pierrepont location of BHS.  In attendance were student authors from other schools such as P.S. 31, P.S. 233, P.S. 282 and P.S. 312. The research topic for each school vary. Each student will take home two copies of their book and copies will be available at the school.
