Ribbon cutting ceremony at our new library & media center

The ribbon cutting ceremony of PS 307’s new library and media center took place on Wednesday, June 13th honoring Latoya Stephens-King, PS 307 parent, educator, school leadership team member and technology advocate who passed away a few years ago.

Principal Carroll, previous principal Davenport, her family and daughter (pictured below) attended the event describing Latoya as a “fierce, fearless and driven women”.

A new digital media specialist and librarian will be hired for next school year. Programming will evolve over the summer but a certain number of periods will be taught at the library, read alouds and story times will take place as well as open houses and other events. The new library and media center was partly funded by Councilman Steven Levin.
